Fund for Women & Girls Grants
In March 2016 Greater Tacoma Community Foundation announced that we would be taking the next year to consider the astounding potential of the Fund for Women and Girls. In this year of transition, we have been gathering local, regional and national data on the status of women and girls. We’ve begun meeting with experts, reviewing best practices, and studying change theories. We’ve learned a lot.
Our research has confirmed that the Fund for Women and Girls will look different next year, and that means the grant making will look different too. As we begin to learn more we’ll be asking to hear about your experiences. We need your help and we’ll be sharing more details about those opportunities soon.
This year the Fund for Women and Girls will award one-year grants of up to $7,500 of general operating support for programs that encourage self-esteem, self-reliance and empowerment for women and girls. The Fund for Women and Girls is particularly interested in funding programs that show measurable impact for women and girls. The following eligibility requirements must also be met:
- Be an organization that serves Pierce County, Washington residents;
- Have the capacity to complete the proposed project within a year; and
- Be current on all final reports for grants previously received from the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation.
This funding type does not support capital projects or purchases such as computers, automobiles, infrastructure improvements, or buildings, etc.
The application period is now closed. Awards will be announced in early January 2017.
Fund for Women and Girls grants are managed by Senior Program Officer, Kathryn Zetzer. She can be reached by phone at 253-345-4169 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
