What is a Community Foundation?
A community foundation is a philanthropic vehicle that pools the charitable gifts of many community members to create a sustainable aspect of philanthropy that addresses the current and future needs of the community. There are nearly 700 community foundations in the United States, making it one of the fastest growing sectors of philanthropy today.
