Bethel High School
Scholarship Program
The following scholarships are available to graduating students at Bethel High School.
Paul Chalk was a famous painter of Mt. Rainier. His opalescent skies and light reflections off snow and ice have made his paintings recognizable in art shows throughout the Northwest, and have been placed in galleries and private collections throughout the United States and Europe. His family donated prints from over 20 of his famous paintings to fund the Scholarship Fund in 2000.
Eligibility Requirements: · • Current graduating senior at Bethel High School (first) and Spanaway High School(second). • Must enroll at a two-year or four-year college or university to pursue an art career.
Established in 1990 as a memorial by a family member.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating female senior from Bethel High School. • Must enroll at a four- year college. • Must demonstrate financial need.
Established in 1994, as a memorial by her family.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from Bethel High School. • Must plan to pursue nursing as a career and has exhibited potential for success through appropriate high school course work and college testing. If there is not a student meeting the aforementioned criteria, a student interested in pursuing any college level health-related field may be considered. Established in 1999, as a memorial. Tim was a highly intelligent, well-rounded, industrious and personable individual who set many goals for himself and his family through persistence and hard work.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from Bethel High School. • Criteria includes: character, personality, congeniality and industry. • Must enroll at a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college.

Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from Bethel School District #403. • Must enroll at a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college. • Must demonstrate financial need.
Established in 2007, by his family.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from Bethel High School. • Must enroll at a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college. • Must demonstrate financial need.
Established in 1994 as a memorial to Antonio Terry by the Seattle Police Department. Antonio Terry was a well respected police officer who lost his life in the line of duty.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from Bethel High School. • Must have participated in athletics and demonstrated good citizenship. • Must enroll at a vocational, two-year, or four-year college or university.
Established in 1993, through the last will and testament of Anna R. Harden. This scholarship award rotates each year between high schools within Pierce County.
Eligibility Requirements: • High school senior residing in Pierce County; • One award is available per Pierce County high school given on a rotating basis; • Enroll in a college or university within 18 months from graduation; • Maintain a satisfactory grade point average; • Financial need will be considered once all other criteria is met.
