Spanaway Lake High School
Scholarship Program
The following scholarships are available to graduating students at Spanaway Lake High School.
Established in 2008 in memory of Susan Blank by her loving family.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior student from Spanaway Lake or Challenger High School. • Enroll at a four-year college or university or an accredited school for the arts • Show excellence as an art student and show promise to pursue the arts in school. • Must have previously attended Spanaway Junior High School. • Must demonstrate leadership in education or athletics. • Must have demonstrated financial need.
Established in 2006 in memory of Casey Crate who graduated from Spanaway Lake High School. Casey was killed in Iraq on Memorial Day 2005.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from Spanaway Lake High School. • Must enroll at a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college. • Must have demonstrated financial need.
Established in 1997 in memory of Angela Joy Raden by her loving family.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior at Spanaway High School. • Must enroll at a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college or university. • Must have demonstrated interest in pursuing education in a medical or writing field. • Must have at least a 2.8 GPA. • Must demonstrate strong values and character. • Must demonstrate school or community service.
Established in 1998 in memory of Margaret (Peggy) Rose. This scholarship award rotates each year between Bethel High School and Spanaway High School.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior of Bethel School District #403. • Must enroll at a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college. • Must hold a 3.2 GPA. • Must have good character. • Must demonstrate financial need.
Established in 1992, by Elise W. Lyon as a memorial to her beloved husband, Victor. Victor L. Lyon was born in Tacoma in 1918. He and Elise married in 1947. Mrs. Lyon wanted to perpetuate the community involvement she and her husband shared for so many years. This scholarship award rotates each year between high schools within Pierce County.
Eligibility Requirements: • Current graduating senior from a Pierce County High School. • Must enroll at a vocational, two-year, or four-year year college of university. • Must demonstrate financial need.
