What You'll Retain...
A specifically named Fund let’s your family or the original founding donor retain their identity and stature in the community. For example, the Jones Family Foundation typically becomes the Jones Family Foundation Fund. The family can retain websites, events, and other identifying collateral. The same mission and focus of the current Foundation can be incorporated into the establishing guidelines and objectives of your Fund.
As Fund advisor(s) you recommend grants which are then implemented by the staff of The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation. The same internal grant evaluation procedures currently in use can be utilized by the new Fund. Additionally, the Community Foundation personnel ensure that the Fund complies with all IRS granting guidelines and requirements.
A Fund established at The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation enables families to teach their children, grandchildren, and subsequent generations, the importance and wisdom of supporting organizations that make a positive impact in the world.
Successor Fund advisors can be named for subsequent generations with no limit upon the lifetime of the Fund.
If for any reason Donor Advised Fund advisors are dissatisfied with any aspect of The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, the Fund can be transferred to another charitable umbrella organization at any time. Fund establishment does not permanently lock-up assets.
