Preparing for FLSA Overtime Rule Change

October 25, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

$20

In May 2016, the Department of Labor (DOL) announced changes to rules regarding overtime compensation. The new Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations will affect many nonprofits. Join 501 Commons for an informative session that will provide an overview of the rule changes and suggestions of how your organization can plan for these developments.

The FLSA rule updates the salary and compensation levels needed for executive, administrative, and professional workers to be considered “exempt” from overtime. Under the new rules, anyone paid less than about $47,476 annually must be paid overtime even if they have supervisory or management responsibilities.

These changes, effective December 1, 2016 are expected to raise labor costs for many nonprofits and may require you to hire additional staff in order to avoid paying extra overtime compensation.

Start planning for change! This informative and interactive session led by Nancy Kasmar (Compensation Connections LLC) will allow you to learn more about this rule change and to equip your organization to plan and adjust for these changes.
