When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?
Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF
I work alongside a fabulous team who supports community members in strengthening Pierce County through philanthropy. We connect families and individuals to organizations and causes they care about, help build the long-term sustainability of non-profits through endowments, partner with Professional Advisors, and assist individuals and families in creating their philanthropic legacy.
What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?
Seeing the joy and excitement people experience when they establish a new fund or legacy plan, knowing the impact it will have on the organizations and causes they love.
What other jobs or positions have you held?
I have worked to strengthen communities and ensure students in K-12 public education had access to equitable educational opportunities since 1998 – first as the Executive Director the Issaquah Schools Foundation and then as the Executive Director of the National School Foundation Association. Focusing on sustainable growth and programmatic impact, I have worked with countless boards and non-profit leaders across the county to build their capacity - leading strategic planning sessions, facilitating board retreats, mentoring new executive directors and providing training on governance and fundraising.
Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?
My greatest joy comes from spending time with those I love - my immediate family (my husband, three sons, and their families) and my extended family and friends. I also love to spend time outdoors, kayaking, boating, biking, gardening, and skiing.
