When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?

December 2019

Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF

I am a storyteller and content creator.

What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?

The most exciting part of my role with GTCF is having the opportunity to work with such dedicated colleagues and becoming familiar with the many partnerships that work to help our community thrive.

What other jobs or positions have you held?

Previous to GTCF, I was a Communications Manager at Metropolitan Development Council (MDC). Prior to MDC, I worked with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) as a Communications Associate in Washington, D.C., taking on assignments in Rome, Italy and New Delhi, India.

Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?

I enjoy riding my bike for exercise, exploration, and running errands. This brings me joy because I get to unwind, peacefully with a bike ride around Pierce County, taking in the sights I may have overlooked before. You can also catch me participating in group rides with Second Cycle, located in the neighborhood of Hilltop. As music also brings me joy, you may find me djing around Pierce County - 10 years and counting!

What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?

I highly recommend catching a film at The Grand Cinema, located near downtown Tacoma. It's the best little independent film house in town.

What is the most inspiring book that you have read and why?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is most inspiring to me, as it reminds me to never let go of dreams and aspirations and to follow my heart and intuition to attain them.
