AHAT Homecare was founded in 1989 by community members concerned over the lack of care and compassion for those living with AIDS. AHAT operates three distinct programs:

  1. Three Cedars: Three Cedars is a 24/7 care facility offering comprehensive services to individuals living with AIDS. Services include medical assistance, medication management, and daily living assistance in a compassionate and loving environment.
  2. Project Open Door (POD): Project Open Door began in 2005 and is a collaborative effort between AHAT and Pierce County AIDS Foundation. Within its two living sites, POD provides housing, support services, life skills training, and intensive case management to chronically homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
  3. The Living Well program: The Living Well program began in 2009. Through Living Well, participants receive expanded supportive services such as independent living skills education, nutritional counseling, and medication management. Additionally, the Living Well program facilitates weekly support groups for participants with diverse topics including recovery, treatment adherence, and smoking cessation.
