Founded in 2014, WILLO is an intergenerational group of diverse women living and working in Pierce County whose common mission is to create sustainable intercultural/intergenerational relationships by celebrating the voices of women and girls through the power of shared stories: In 2014, WILLO debuted Tacoma’s first-ever Annual Storytelling Festival in partnership with Broadway Center for Performing Arts, launched the annual conversation on Women’s Health & Happiness 2015 (also w/BCPA), and organized student-based story project teams working with School of the Arts (SOTA) and Bates CTC. In 2015, these stories were presented to 176 students at Giaudrone Middle School as foundation for student writing projects.
