Surviving & Thriving: Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall

June 26, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. The Rainbow Center has decided to commemorate this important moment in LGBTQ history with an event at the Rainbow Center on Wednesday, June 26th.

– Participate in a Stonewall Photo Project with professional photographer, Alice Di Certo. We want to capture the South Sound’s LGBTQ community and their stories through photos. The final project will be displayed at Tacoma Pride 2019 and the Rainbow Center. Bring your family members, friends or come solo.

– Visit the refreshed Rainbow Center/ Oasis Queer Library
and take our NEW digital catalog for a spin!

– Join us for Drag Queen Story Time at 5:30pm and 6:15pm, which will feature the new children’s book: Stonewall: A Building. An Uprising. A Revolution. by Rob Sanders

This event is FREE. All ages are welcome! The Rainbow Center is a proudly queer, anti-racist community center. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment that reflects the community we serve. The Rainbow Center is wheelchair accessible and offers ADA-compliant, single stall restrooms.

If you need further accommodations, please submit a request to Bre at (253) 383-2318 or bre@rainbowcntr.org, at least 5 business days prior to the event.
