Wine made in China? Yes, and it is a bigger thing than you might think. Since 2013, Professor Pierre Ly and his wife Cynthia Howson have spent their summers traveling Chinese wine country to meet the farmers, entrepreneurs and winemakers who are rocking the wine world. Wine, and even wine tourism, have brought new opportunities for economic development in several provinces. Pierre Ly will share his experience traveling China through wine.

Pierre Ly is Associate Professor of International Political Economy at the University of Puget Sound, where he teaches courses on NGOs, global trade and wine. He and his wife Cynthia Howson (Lecturer at University of Washington Tacoma) are writing a book about Chinese wine.
