Good Governance Project
The Good Governance Project aims to strengthen the U.S. education system by rebuilding a more effective and trustworthy Department of Education. The initiative will gather insights from recently laid-off federal education employees and key stakeholders—such as state education departments and school districts—about what worked and what did not in the department’s operations. These findings could inform a positive vision for the future role of the agency and actionable policy recommendations. The project began in May 2025 and is expected to run through May 2026.
