When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?
September 2026
Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF
I work alongside estate planning attorneys, wealth advisors, and CPAs to help their clients turn generosity into lasting change across Pierce County. By making charitable giving strategies clear and accessible — from Donor-Advised Funds to complex assets and legacy gifts — I help individuals give with greater confidence and see the difference their generosity makes in the community they call home. I also partner with local nonprofits to help grow and sustain their funds, strengthening the long-term health of the organizations doing this work every day.
What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?
Working with those who make Pierce County a great place to call home.
What other jobs or positions have you held?
I'm proud to celebrate nearly two decades of philanthropic leadership from roles at the Yakima Valley Community Foundation, Heritage University, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, and Fred Hutch.
Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?
Old houses with good bones, a new-to-me corner of the South Sound to explore, time out on or near the water, and my precocious dog. Add my husband and young son into that mix, and honestly, that's pretty perfect.
What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?
Adventures at Point Defiance, waterfront walks along Ruston Way, afternoons at Chambers Bay or wandering Gig Harbor, live music and the arts, our region's phenomenal restaurants, the Puyallup Fair, community celebrations, and — of course — no shortage of admiring "the" mountain.
What is the most inspiring book that you have read and why?
My most recent favorite is The Correspondent by Virginia Evans. Told entirely through letters, it follows a woman named Sybil as she looks back on her life — a reminder of how the smallest, most personal exchanges can carry someone's whole story.
