When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?
August 2025
Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF
I currently serve on Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Investment Committee
What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?
I want to use my financial/investment background to bring a complementary perspective to the GTCF Board. I also know I will learn a great deal from the current Board members given their varied life experiences.
What other jobs or positions have you held?
From 2010 to 2024, I served in multiple leadership roles at the Tacoma Employees Retirement System (TERS), culminating in the role of Retirement Director. I oversaw the operations of $2.1 billion defined benefit plan serving more than 6,000 active and retired members. Prior to my time at TERS, I led fixed income manager research for North America and Europe at Russell Investments.
Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?
I enjoy running, cooking and traveling.
What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?
Hiking – I plan to day-hike some sections of the Wonderland Trail in the coming year.
What is the most inspiring book that you have read and why?
The latest inspirational book I have read is Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. It touches on regrets, acceptance and the importance of connecting with others.
