The Army Sargeant Marie Tibre Scholarship Fund

The Army Sargeant Marie Tibre Scholarship Fund was established in 2008 in loving memory of Sargeant Tibre, 28, who died while in active combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Seargeant Tibre, originally from Natchitoches, LA, was stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord.  In addition to her love of country, Sargeant Tibre was a daughter, aunt, and friend.

The fund was originally established to provide scholarships of $500 to support Pierce County students.

As part of the Educational Access Fund, Sargeant Tibre’s legacy will ensure that Pierce County students have equitable education access now and for generations to come.
