Downtown On The Go!: Friday Forum – Affordable Housing & Density

March 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Tacoma is experiencing a housing crisis and an identity crisis as it grapples with the increasing need for affordable housing and greater density. How do we know what and where to build, and how do we measure the impacts – both intentional and unintentional? Join us for a panel digging into the data behind affordable housing and density, and how communities can grow with change.

This free Friday Forum panel event will be held on March 29th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in person at the University of Washington Tacoma in Milgard Hall Room 110, and virtually over Zoom. Featuring panelists Dr Anaid Yerena (University of Washington Tacoma), Jeff Dade (Homestead Community Land Trust), and Nicholas Carr (Tacoma Housing Authority). Moderated by Tanisha Jumper (Tacoma Public Schools).

Whether you plan to attend in person or over Zoom, please register below to receive all the information you need.

Thank you to UW Tacoma’s Office of Community Partnerships for supporting these forums by providing us with an in-person space.

Downtown On the Go’s Friday Forums bring together local leaders, experts, and the community to talk about transportation issues facing Tacoma and our region. In 2024 we’re exploring what it means to build strong communities, focusing in on health equity, youth mobility, and housing density. Learn more about the 2024 Friday Forums series and access recordings for past forums here.
