Money Helps! But People Working Together Is The Key

As a community foundation, GTCF supports community working together to distribute resources for a thriving Pierce County. Money is a vital ingredient to fuel change, but money can’t do anything without the vision, relationships and commitment of people working together. The first ingredient for community action is people.
As many local organizations and government agencies navigate the challenge of funding cuts in 2025, GTCF has seen how people continue to find creative ways to move efforts forward through partnerships, building networks, and sharing resources and information.
In this October 2025 edition of the Strategic Gazette GTCF shares some of the lessons we have learned from partnering with people and organizations bringing their hearts and hopes together to build a thriving Pierce County, now and for generations to come.
A few of these lessons include:
- The power of networks
- Reduced barriers to funding
- Peer Learning
- Philanthropy that DOES good
- Leaving legacy gifts for generations to come
