Relationships Build Resilience

As a community foundation, GTCF believes the greatest asset any community has is its relationships. When people trust each other, share their knowledge and resources, and show up together, they build resilience to navigate challenges no single organization could face alone.

Those relationships are critical for Pierce County right now. Major changes to federal funding and policy are reshaping how local nonprofits, government agencies, and civic institutions ensure enduring support for residents. With less funding and new rules, GTCF sees individuals and organizations across Pierce County rising to meet those challenges using reliable data, peer consulting, and long-term vision.

This May 2026 edition of the Strategic Gazette highlights what GTCF is learning from the leaders, networks, and donors who are building a more resilient Pierce County, now and for generations to come.

A few of these lessons include:

  • Relationships build resilience
  • Reliable, shared data drives effective decisions
  • Networks move communities forward
  • Strategic Giving makes a lasting difference
